The Devils Chemist - is the heart of USA Capitalism Nazi?

July 19th, 2008 by superlion

Hi folks,

something of a rant this evening, but if you’ll forgive me the liberty - I am half Indian (proudly Punjabi actually) so feel moved in quite a manner tonight over what was sent to me by Sunil Shibad of Flea Global, the very good Indian Advertising Agency. Sunil keeps me wired into what’s happening in advertising in this awesome nation which runs in my blood you could say.

Here’s what I have to say about what follows below…

Making money is fine…

Killing others is not

Accidents happen…

Even ones that kill folk - life & death happens

When they do clean YOUR MESS UP!

100,000 have since been affected - apart from the initial 3,800 or so instantly killed at the time. (Up to 15k died in first month alone.)

Bhopal has been a lingering puss filled boil filled that no one has yet adequately cleaned up.

Disgusting…

Is that really suprising from a US company ethos (Dow Chemicals) which rushed to employ a chief chemical architect of the Nazi Concentration Camp Gas Zyclon B - Otto Ambrose, the second his jail sentence was cut short (at whose request I wonder BTW?).

His nefarious activities brought him a pathetic 8 years in prison after World War II despite his happy involvement in slavery and murder.

Dow Chemicals didn’t mind that one bit - in fact his ‘CV’ impressed them as being “mighty fine indeed!” Beside themselves with joy and legs quivering like jelly with excitement over how much money they could make with his ‘unique experience’ they simply ushered him into the hallowed halls of American Capitalism…

IMHO he should have been hanging on the end of a rope for what went on in Auschwitz.

What about the US Marines that fought against beasts like him - only to see Otto laugh all the way to a luxurious and prosperous future in America itself?

And what does this say about America’s love affair with money itself?

Guys like this were approved by none other than Peter Grace. When he helped Ambrose establish US residency he was the leader of the U.S. Council of the International Chamber of Commerce. J. Peter Grace wrote of his “deep admiration” for Ambrose in a letter recommending him for a visa for American residency.

Stomach churning.

I guess that brings me to my final question (especially to those making money from investing in Dow Chemicals; that fine upstanding American Institution which brought us Napalm) - does that make the heart of USA Capitalism Nazi?

Please do click the image below for a full size version and more info.

Good, got that out of my system now, just in time for dinner.

Until next time, keep safe… and be kind; funnily enough others will be kind to you too.

Dave Alston.

PS Please feel free to download the Swastika image and text and print, post and spread this message far and wide about the real ‘face’ of Dow. You know it’s right…

Wow - Google Tool now shows exact monthly searches

July 10th, 2008 by superlion

Hi folks,

something mouthwatering happened today over at Google which is just awesome for us as net marketers.

They released the exact number of monthly searches each keyword gets over at their external keyword tool…

Google KeywordToolExternal

This is great especially when you want to target the ‘long tail’ keywords with lesser competition.

I got the nod about this from Jim Morris over at…

www.nichebot.com

He’s got the full lowdown on it there - but I was so excited I just went straight to Google’s tool and checked out the niches some of my clients want to go into next.

Have fun picking those luscious low hanging niches now.

See you next time. Yippee!

Free small business software

April 24th, 2008 by superlion

Hi folks,

seems like an aeon since I last posted but today’s piece will help small business owners and freelancers such as designers, programmers and copywriters who often provide services on an hourly basis to track their time effectively.

I’ve been using PAYMO for the last month or so and it is so intuitive, it’s now become indispensable and is super addictive to use.

In short there are three things I love about it…

1. It’s so easy to use. Most software that tracks your time or promises to project manage you is just too much hassle to set up before you can start using it. With Paymo you can be set up project managing every aspect of your business within a few minutes. No exaggeration.

2. The reports it generates are really cool - you can look back over your week/month and see EXACTLY how much time you spent in every area of your business. You can generate graphic rich PDFs to invoice your clients and you know it’s 100% accurate billing. You get paid for exactly the time you spent on clients projects. It’s online so you can access your reports anywhere (you download a small app to your desktop that does the ‘timing’).

3. It’s free - that’s right. Perfect for small business owners or freelancers.

Here’s the link again…

Paymo

I hope you enjoy using it for your business as much as I do.

All the best.

Dave.

When You Hire A Copywriter That Cheats…

October 2nd, 2007 by superlion

In the good old west - the goodies won and the baddies… died, often at the hands of ballsy upholders of goodness and virtue like John Wayne in True Grit.

Ah, if only all of life were that simple today.

Now it seems that evil is good and evil… has become good.

Even here in UK to be ‘good’ in the eyes of many teenage gang peers, means you need to have committed some degree of badness to pass into the ranks of the admired - like shooting someone (London & Manchester have become crazy lately), or at the very least stealing or attacking someone with physical violence.

Why is everything back to front? It seems everywhere we look now this is how things are…

The best “What is RSS” video yet?

September 16th, 2007 by superlion

Hi all,

most marketers know what RSS is these days, but for those who don’t then this short video is the business. If you are not using RSS yet to receive the latest cutting edge news on whatever you are interested in, or for what you need to know for your business then you are wasting bucket loads of time. You are also probably nowhere near as well informed as those who are using RSS to stay on top of their game. Anyway, enough talk from me - here’s one of the clearest video’s yet on what RSS is all about.

Enjoy…

Why isn’t all backup this easy?

May 25th, 2007 by superlion

Hi folks,

just discovered a wonderful and very helpful little site called www.blogbackuponline.com. It does exactly what it says on the can along with extra added peace of mind. If you’re anything like me one of the least appealing aspects of doing anything at all on a PC is backing up. Draggsville indeed. When it comes to blogging however it’s pretty important so this free life saver for total non techies is a blessing indeed…
