Trust...

Dear reader,

As you read, all of humanity is surging onto the Internet in an unstoppable torrent like never, ever before. Watching it is positively spine tingling. It's what people are doing and where their attention is. It's where they are spending their time and money. Crucially - it's where they are placing their trust.

A global survey by Nielsen in Feb 2008 disclosed that over 85% of the world’s online population has used the Internet to make a purchase, jumping 40% from two years previously up to a huge 875 million in 2008.

The Net is now truly trusted.

My question is; do people trust you when they see your messages online?

Another survey by Neilson on Trust in Advertising even as far back as Oct 2007 found that 78% of online consumers trust recommendations by other consumers above all else. So when customers write something about you or your company online - they are believed, it's as simple as that.

In today's highly interconnected Web2.0 world - understanding that people love the opinions of friends, but HATE to be sold to... and yet still LOVE to buy is key. We've all read other people's critiques of products on Amazon which have influenced our final purchase decision haven't we?

Accordingly, highlighting your business credibility in a way which inspires customers to interact with you at a much deeper level of trust, and gossip to their friends about you in a good way only comes from how you position and maintain your own unique core story online. You need to know how to nurture this story messaging on a consistent, ongoing basis in much the same way a PR agency would approach things.

Clear writing and branding yourself correctly online is consequently central to this whole process.

If you'd like to see how my online copywriting can help you profit from this colossal shift in global buying habits by plugging the right message into what you need to say, please email or call me for an informal chat.
